Partner Profiles

William S. Watson - Managing Partner


In addition to strategic consulting in travel marketing, distribution and business development, Bill offers Board and corporate level advisory services and selectively accepts retained executive search engagements. Bill has been a leader in the consulting industry for over twelve years. He most recently served as Chief Operating officer and Executive Vice President of Best Western International, the world’s largest hotel chain.

Before Best Western, Bill was Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing at ITT Sheraton Corporation where he had responsibilities for travel industry marketing, worldwide strategic planning and the ITT Sheraton Reservations Corporation.

Bill also served as the Vice Chairman of Pegasus Systems, Inc., the holding company for The Hotel Industry Switch Company (THISCO) and the Hotel Clearing Corporation (HCC).

Bill’s work in developing THISCO was cited by Dan Tapscott in his book, The Paradigm Shift, as one of the top ten examples of “having the visionary thinking required for success in today’s world of electronic marketing.”  

 

 

Mark G. Haley - Partner


Mark Haley manages the firm's Technology practice. Services include strategy development, needs analysis, system selection, specification development and more. Relevant technologies include Customer Relationship Management, Internet applications, property management, central reservations and global distribution systems and all aspects of hotel voice and data communications.

Mark has been consulting since 1997, having founded High Touch Technologies after 15 years with ITT Sheraton. Mark started at Sheraton on the Front Desk, leaving as Director of Property Technology after a number of positions of increasing responsibility at every level of the corporation.

He currently serves the industry as Past Chair of the AH&LA Technology & E-Business Committee and Past President of the New England Hospitality Finance & Technology Professionals.

 

Mark B. Hoare - Partner


Mark has over 29 years in the hospitality and hospitality technology sectors of the travel industry. His career spans all areas of hotel operations, and general management in both Europe and the Americas for: The Savoy Group London, ITT Sheraton, Le Richemond Geneva, and Royal Classic Hotels Scandinavia.

As a Prism Partner, Mark leverages his last 18 years of specialist expertise in the design, development and deployment hospitality technology solutions including; property management, central reservation, loyalty, revenue management and electronic distribution systems.

Throughout his career he has excelled at bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, at the same time furthering the industry’s adoption of new technologies and standards.

Over the last 12 years Mark has held senior Product Management positions for companies that include Hotel Information Systems, Hilton International, Anasazi, Pegasus Solutions, Hotel Booking Solutions and IBS.

 
 

Maureen O'Hanlon - Partner


Maureen is a 25 year veteran of the travel and hospitality industry. As a Prism Partner, she leads marketing initiatives large and small on behalf of clients. Key areas include Customer Relationship Management, loyalty programs, e-commerce, public relations and reservations distribution.

Prior to joining the Prism Partnership, O’Hanlon served with Prime Hospitality as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing overseeing all marketing, advertising and communications efforts in addition to the National Sales effort. She also served 16 years at Carlson in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility, including Senior Vice President of the Loyalty Division of Carlson Marketing Group, long recognized as a global leader in CRM execution, and Vice President, Worldwide Marketing and Sales for Radisson Hotels.

Maureen’s numerous industry honors include: Recognized as one of the 25 most influential industry executives by Tour & Travel News; Recipient of the ATLAS Award for Marketing, bestowed by the Association of Travel Marketing Executives; and numerous other citations, awards and accolades.

 

 

Elaine Hendricks - Partner


Elaine Hendricks manages the Prism Partnership's Research practice.

Elaine has a 20-year professional background in the travel industry and has been consulting for over seven years.

The Research team offers custom studies and data gathering from proprietary, published and semi-public sources. Research program design, data analysis and interpretation are core competencies.

Another popular service is organizing and facilitating focus group sessions, which then suggest avenues for quantitative studies.

Elaine previously worked as SVP Research for Chartwell Bass, serving major accounts such as Land Rover.

Prior to Chartwell, she was Director of Research & Strategic Marketing Worldwide for Best Western Hotels.

 

Gary Leopold - Partner


While also serving as Prism Partner Gary's primary role is as President & CEO of ISM Marketing, which he co-founded over 17 years ago.

ISM provides advertising and marketing services to the hospitality and leisure industries. Prism and ISM frequently collaborate on strategic and tactical engagements for mutual clients.

Gary has served as an advisor to many leading travel, hospitality and leisure organizations including Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, Sheraton Hotels, Hong Kong Tourism Authority, The Islands Of The Bahamas, Historic Hotels of America, Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) and Harley Davidson.

Prior to joining ISM, Gary was the corporate director of public relations for Sonesta International Hotels Corporation, overseeing the marketing activities of 13 hotels worldwide Gary is a past president of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) and currently serves on their Board of Directors, as well as on the Board of the HSMAI Foundation.

A noted expert in travel marketing, he has taught and lectured on the subject at Cornell, Boston University, University of New Hampshire and many other colleges and organizations.
